Thishiwe has written and storylined for numerous successful South African television dramas since 2007, including Isthunzi, Lockdown, Isidingo and Rhythm City, amongst others .
Through her company, Ngonyama Kapital, she has developed various drama content with companies such as Fireworx Media, LoveLife and Don Quixote Media Associates.
Thishiwe has written and directed three short films, also producing two of these. Her most recent, Sina Nomakotshana (24’) was produced as part of the NFVF Women In Film series. Her 17-minute Between the Lines screened at the Durban International Film Festival 2011 and the National Arts Festival in the same year. Her 7-minute horror Subdued was made as part of the 48-Hour Short Film Challenge.
As writer, director and executive producer, Thishiwe is currently in development on her first feature film titled Stellar Collision, a passionate yet tragic love story set in Johannesburg.
Thishiwe has also had short stories published in works such as African Compass: New Writing From Southern Africa; Breaking the Silence: Murmurs of the Girl in Me and Itch Magazine.
